NewsJoni Mitchell reveals new album detailsJoni Mitchell has revealed details of her forthcoming album, 'Shine'. As previously reported, Mitchell's new album will be released on September 25 in the US and Canada and on September 24 in the rest of the world on the new Starbucks label, Hear Music. 'Shine' contains 10 tracks that were written, arranged and produced by Mitchell. The songtress said in a statement that it is "as serious a work as I've ever done." She added, "I am thrilled to be able to work with the Hear Music label on my new CD," said Mitchell. "Starbucks and Concord Music Group are joining me in releasing a project which has enabled me to appreciate what I loved about making music in the first place. I am very grateful to them." Two songs on the new album -- 'If' and 'If I Had A Heart' -- appeared in 'The Fiddle And The Drum', a ballet based on Mitchell's songs that premiered earlier this year. Mitchell said she was inspired to write the song 'If' by her favourite Rudyard Kipling poem. Tabloid Hell: Gwen is obscene! The skilful gyrations and liberal jiggling of the average Gwen Stefani live show provokes plenty of reactions. Mostly from blokes doing things like Jim Carrey did in that film 'The Mask', when his eyes popped out of his face and he started howling like a wolf at Cameron Diaz. As the red-tops today are reporting, campaigners in Malaysia, where Gwen is touring now, have certainly been howling. But not with pent-up sexual frustration - they're positively sizzling with anger about Gwen's "obscene" show. "We want organisers to cancel the concert, failing that we will ask authorities to intervene," said Hilmi Ramli, president of the National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students, who are leading the protest against Gwen's leg exposure. As a result, apparently Gwen has hired a crack squad of ex-SAS security guards to make sure no one runs at her with a big sheet to try and cover her up. "Since she is a mother and a loved wife, she will be very careful about her security," said "an insider". So, will Gwen continue the tour? No Doubt! Sorry... |
